Infrastructure Engineer

Are you an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in on-premise technologies and cloud solutions? We are recruiting for a forward-thinking organisation looking to strengthen its infrastructure while strategically expanding into cloud environments.
This is a hybrid role, 2 days per week on site in Central London.
The Role
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust on-premise infrastructure, with a roadmap to selective cloud adoption. You will be responsible for server builds, automation, containerisation, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless operations and scalability.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Premise Infrastructure – Install, configure, and maintain production/UAT servers (Windows/Linux).
Cloud Expansion – Support cloud provisioning (Azure) while ensuring seamless integration with existing on-prem infrastructure.
Automation & CI/CD – Enhance deployment and release processes with CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitLab, GitLab Runner).
Containerisation – Manage Docker environments and orchestration (Docker Swarm/Kubernetes).
Monitoring & Incident Management – Implement proactive monitoring solutions for critical infrastructure (Node, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, SQL Server).
Change & Problem Management – Follow change control procedures, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and document solutions.
Skills & Experience Required:
Must-have:
Proven experience in Infrastructure Engineering, System Administration, or DevOps.
Hands-on experience with server installation, maintenance, and monitoring.
Strong expertise in Windows/Linux systems and networking concepts.
Knowledge of Git, Node.js, and GitLab Runner.
Experience with containerisation (Docker, Docker Swarm/Kubernetes).
Nice-to-have:
Exposure to Azure provisioning and hybrid cloud environments.
Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform / Bicep).
Experience with RabbitMQ, MongoDB, Elastic Search, SQL Server.
